The Renovation Planning Framework
These are the five decisions that matter more than finishes.
1. Define How You Want the Space to Feel

Design decisions are easier when the emotional target is clear.
2. Identify What Slows You Down Daily

Consider:

• How it moves throughout the day
• Task lighting vs ambient lighting
• What you see when lights are on at night
A thoughtfully layered lighting plan, with design-forward selections not only provides a mood, it’s sculpture in every room.
5. Design for Life, Not Just for Photos
The best renovations are not the trendiest.
They are the ones where:

• Guests instinctively gather in the right places
• The space feels intentional and effortless
That doesn’t happen by accident.
A Quick Reality Check on Budget
Renovations are investments — and clarity protects that investment.
Costs are driven primarily by:
• Structural changes
• Custom millwork
• Appliance tier
• Mechanical relocation
• Finish quality
If you begin with layout and planning, you avoid expensive revisions later.
