We opened the floor plan and introduced a 12-foot island to bring everyone into the heart of the home, where cooking, conversation, and connection now happen effortlessly.

Before

A two-tier calcite chandelier suspends in the dining room like sculptural jewelry…its natural mineral veining and warm brass finish adding depth and quiet glow. The double-tiered scale was essential here, rising to meet the 12-foot ceilings with presence and grace.

Coffered ceilings, acoustic paneling, and thoughtfully layered lighting bring a sense of calm refinement to the open space. Luxury you feel before you can name it.

04- The Ceiling

What makes this ceiling truly special is the precision in its alignment. Every coffer was measured and placed so the trim work lands exactly where the cabinetry crown meets the custom hood feature wall—no shortcuts, no approximations. This required early coordination between design, cabinetry, millwork, and carpentry to ensure the ceiling grid and the elevation lines spoke the same language. The result is quiet symmetry: the coffer lines resolve cleanly into the cabinetry, the hood feels grounded and centered, and the entire room reads as one cohesive architectural gesture rather than separate parts.

The coffered ceiling became one of the most defining architectural elements in this renovation. With 12-foot ceilings and an open-concept plan, we needed a way to create intimacy, warmth, and acoustic comfort without closing off the space. The coffered pattern adds rhythm and proportion, guiding the eye across the kitchen and dining area in a way that feels intentional and calm. It helps absorb sound, softens the vertical expanse, and adds that subtle sense of luxury that you feel before you consciously recognize it.
